Design and Energy Integration

For more than 20 years, the Laboratory of Process Analysis and Design as been active in the following areas:

  1. Design and optimization of processes and systems
  2. Energy Efficiency and Management

In the 1990s, the laboratory began working on the design and optimization of processes and systems, ranging from simple processes to large-scale systems. Among others, extensive studies have been conducted on: the drying process, reverse osmosis, extraction, gas cleaning processes, food processing in oily environments, integrated complex systems related to metallurgy and refineries, energy integration, and auxiliary services management

The LPAD, in line with modern energy sector requirements, develops and implements systems for the utilization of renewable energy sources, including:

  1. Thermal energy
  2. Wind energy
  3. Photovoltaic systems
  4. Cogeneration systems

The laboratory's activity in the design and energy integration is reflected in works related to:

  1. Design of new industrial applications
  2. Optimization of existing industrial applications
  3. Development of Computational Tools for Design and Optimization (Simulators)
