As part of the laboratory courses of Unit Operations I & II, students have the opportunity to carry out the following laboratory exercises:

01 | Fludization Objective: The experimental study of the phenomenon of fluidized bed particle behavior. |
02 | Pump Objective: The study of the operation of the centrifugal pump. |
03 | Heat Exchanger Objective: The experimental operation and investigation of the characteristics of a heat exchanger. |
04 | Air Drying Objective: Familiarization with the drying process using air flow in a laboratory shelf dryer and the analysis of the parameters that influence it. |
05 | Distillation Objective: The study of fractional distillation in continuous operation to separate a binary mixture. |
06 | Crystallization Objective: The study of the basic principles of the crystallization phenomenon using a batch cooling crystallizer. |
07 | Solid-Liquid Extraction Objective:The study of solid-liquid extraction for the recovery of the oily phase from cocoa powder and the calculation of extraction kinetics based on the Peleg model. |
08 | Freeze Drying Objective: The study of freeze-drying (a drying process of a frozen product through sublimation of ice). |
09 | Reverse Osmosis Objective: To study the desalination process using the reverse osmosis method and the solution of basic mass balances and mass transfer equations. |
10 | Evaporator Purpose: Familiarization with the evaporation process and experimental determination of heat transfer coefficients. |
